Indispensable for research, with a few caveats

ChatGPT with browsing enabled is my first stop for any research task. The ability to ask follow-up questions and drill deeper is far better than traditional search. My main gripes are the occasional confident hallucinations on niche topics and the sometimes overly cautious refusals. Deep Research mode is impressive but can take 10+ minutes. Overall, the productivity gains are massive.

The Swiss Army knife of AI tools

As a product manager, I use ChatGPT for user story drafting, competitive analysis, interview question generation, meeting summaries, and quick data lookups. The Custom GPTs let me build lightweight tools for my team without writing code. The canvas feature for collaborative document editing is a recent addition I didn't know I needed. Solid 5 stars for versatility alone.

Best all-around assistant, but not always the smartest

ChatGPT is my starting point for almost everything — it's reliable, fast, and covers every use case I throw at it. That said, for deep analytical tasks or nuanced writing, Claude often edges it out. The free tier is now surprisingly capable with GPT-4o mini, making it the best entry-level option by far. Voice mode is genuinely impressive and useful for hands-free thinking sessions.

Replaced half my productivity stack

I've been using ChatGPT Plus daily for over a year and it's genuinely transformed how I work. The combination of GPT-4o's reasoning, the code interpreter, and DALL·E 3 in one subscription is absurd value. I use it for everything from drafting emails and debugging code to brainstorming and data analysis. The Advanced Data Analysis mode has replaced several paid tools for me.

Best general-purpose AI, but pricey

The quality of responses is hard to beat. I downgraded from Plus and immediately noticed the gap — GPT-3.5 just isn't in the same league. The Plus subscription at $20/mo is worth it if you use it heavily. My one criticism is that it occasionally loses track of earlier conversation context in very long chats.

The benchmark everyone else is measured against

Whether or not it's the best AI for every task, it's the one I reach for first. The plugin ecosystem and web browsing add a lot of value for research tasks. Code Interpreter is excellent for quick data analysis. Would give 5 stars if the API pricing weren't quite so high for production use.
