Essential for indie game audio production
As an indie game developer, ElevenLabs has replaced expensive voice actor contracts for NPC dialogue. The emotional range and naturalness make characters feel believable. The Projects feature for producing full audiobooks or game scripts is well-designed. My main frustration is the character limit on lower tiers — a mid-sized game has thousands of dialogue lines and the credit usage adds up fast.

Voice quality is genuinely shocking
I produce a weekly podcast and started using ElevenLabs for intro/outro narration. The voices are indistinguishable from human to most listeners. Voice cloning from a short sample is spooky good. The free tier is limited but gives you enough to test if it's right for your use case.
