Midjourney produces images that genuinely compete with professional photography and illustration. The outputs regularly make me go 'wow'. That said, it takes real investment to learn the prompt syntax, parameter flags, and aesthetic vocabulary to get consistent results. The lack of a true free trial makes it hard to recommend for casual users. Once you're past the learning curve though, it's an incredible creative tool.
I've been using Midjourney since V4 and the quality leap to V6.1 is staggering. For product photography mockups, editorial illustrations, and concept art, it consistently produces results I couldn't achieve with stock photography. The aesthetic quality has a signature look that's become the gold standard. Vary Region for targeted inpainting is incredibly useful. No other tool comes close for pure visual quality.
